Bio:
Hitting the stage is a new duo from musical veterans, Stud Ford (drums) and Will Coppage (guitar). Together they have created a sound that weaves the legacy of blues with deep grooves all the while crafting lyrics that blend real life sincerity and anthem-like chants. In Ford and Coppage’s eyes, less is more to allow for their music to breathe and entwine with the crowd’s energy.
Stud Ford from Greenville, MS., is the grandson of legendary Delta-Blues artist T-Model Ford. Stud was raised in the Hill Country Blues tradition of Northern Mississippi, and often shared the stage with his grandfather. Stud has also toured with such names as; North Mississippi Allstars, Lightnin Malcolm, and Sean "Bad" Apple.
Will Coppage from Greenville, MS., cut his teeth in local bars along side blues legends like T-Model Ford, Willie Foster, and Little Bill Wallace. He holds both a BFA and a MFA in writing, along with a strong publication resume of poetry, fiction, non-fiction, and songwriting. In 2024, Coppage was listed as a pro songwriter at the annual Mississippi Songwriters Festival.
With both artist hailing from Greenville, MS., a river city that boasts more creative minds and published authors per capita than any other place in the country, it is no wonder that Stud Ford and Will Coppage are able to bring forth authentic tone and power to conjure the legacy of the blues and chart out new destinations for their powerful sound.
